At Liberty Collision, your safety is our number one priority. We think it’s extremely important that money or time doesn’t compromise the safety of you and your family, especially when it comes to your vehicle. The average American spends 18 days driving per year, with an average of eight hours and 22 minutes per week, a OnePoll study conducted on behalf of Cooper Tire found. With that being said, wouldn’t you want your vehicle to be the safest it possibly can be?
Subaru of America is known for being a safe vehicle. But as we all know, accidents do happen. When you are in an accident, it’s imperative that you have a property functioning airbag. As of October 15, 2015, this is Subaru’s statement on salvaged airbags.
“Due to the criticality of vehicle air bag systems to passenger safety, Subaru does not recommend using any air bag parts or components other than original Subaru replacement parts. Subaru air bag systems have been carefully engineered to meet all federal safety standards and to maintain passenger safety. There is no knowledge of the history, quality, or condition of a used air bag component. Installing a used or salvaged air bag component may pose a significant risk to vehicle crashworthiness, which may result in passenger injury or death. An installer using a used or salvaged air bag may violate the Safety Act and be liable. Subaru does not warrant any component except a new replacement.”
If you’re in a Subaru, or any vehicle for that matter, don’t skip out on safety when it comes to your vehicle. If you’ve been in a collision in your Subaru and you’re concerned about the safety of your airbag, bring your vehicle in for an inspection!
